Models and Pricing
Every model in Shape, credit usage, and per-token rates.
Shape routes chat through cloud models. Sign in is required. Auto is included on every plan. Paid plans unlock premium models billed in credits.

Higher-tier models use more credits per turn, so the same pool lasts longer on balanced models than on flagship ones. Check usage from the avatar menu or the usage dashboard.
Auto
Auto uses Shape's included allowance (not premium credits). It routes to a fast backend model for everyday work. Free accounts can use Auto only; Plus and above keep Auto plus the full premium catalog.
Premium models
When you pick a specific model, usage is charged from your monthly credit pool. Rates below are credits per million tokens. Flagship models drain the pool faster.

Flagship Claude and GPT models (Opus 5, Sonnet 5, GPT-5.5, GPT-5.6 Sol) are the highest quality options and use the most credits per turn.

Tips
- Prefer Ask mode when you do not need edits.
- Start with Auto before spending credits on flagship models.
- Turn models on or off in Settings → Agents, and set a default for new chats.
- When you hit the credit limit, upgrade or wait for the next monthly reset.
